Mixtape — Easter Eggs & Hidden Tapes
Every secret we've found in Mixtape: the hidden tape locations, the Artful Escape callbacks, the 80s/90s film references and the dev cameos. Updated as the community surfaces more.
Working draft (May 8, 2026): the secrets below are crowdsourced from launch streams — not all are independently verified. We'll harden the table as Annapurna's content-creator program shares more, and as community runs converge. Flag mistakes to corrections@mixtape.wiki.

Artful Escape callbacks
- Francis Vendetti cameo — one of the background skaters in Ch.1 wears Francis's silver-tasseled jacket from The Artful Escape.
- Calypsoian poster — Slater's bedroom in Ch.25 has a small poster of The Artful Escape's Calypso planet.
- Guitar riff — the original score in Ch.18 quotes a four-bar phrase from "Beneath the Surface".
Film & music references
- Ferris Bueller — the Ch.5 shopping cart sequence cribs the parade montage's blocking.
- Stand By Me — Ch.12 Skipping Stones is a near shot-for-shot homage.
- Say Anything… — Ch.17 rooftop frames the boombox-aloft moment, but inverted.
- Empire Records — the Starlight Video clerk wears the same name tag.
- Pulp's "Common People" — referenced by name in a Ch.13 dialogue branch.
Dev cameos
- Mr. Galvatron — the Ch.26 video clerk is named for game director Johnny Galvatron.
- Beethoven the dog — a small bronze dog statue appears in three chapters; touch all three for a hidden track on the credits.
